Welcome to IAMDD
Welcome to the IAMDD (Integrated Agronomic & Municipal Demand Dynamics) user manual.
IAMDD is a next-generation, web-based hydraulic modeling platform designed to bridge the gap between traditional civil engineering, modern agronomy, urban planning, and spatial analytics. Built on top of the robust EPANET hydraulic engine, IAMDD introduces dynamic, weather-responsive demand modeling for both agricultural operations and municipal water networks.

Whether you are designing a new pressurized irrigation district, optimizing a municipal water grid for future development, or evaluating the financial impacts of conservation policies, IAMDD provides the tools you need to model your system exactly as it operates in the real world.

Capabilities
- Spatial Network Design: Draw your pipes, nodes, and demand areas directly on an interactive GIS map. IAMDD's intelligent topology engine automatically handles node snapping, pipe splitting, and length calculations in real-time.
- Intelligent Municipal Demands: IAMDD uses OpenStreetMap (OSM) to scan for building footprints and automatically differentiate between single-family and multi-family structures. It establishes baseline indoor demands and dynamically scales outdoor sprinkler use based on real-time weather data (ETo).
- Dynamic Agronomic Demands: Stop guessing your agricultural base demands. IAMDD pulls live soils data (SSURGO) and tracks the daily Soil Water Balance to trigger irrigation events exactly when specific crops need them.
- Scheduling & Conservation Controls: Enforce complex administrative water policies. For agriculture, define rotational intervals and offsets to physically lock headgates. For municipalities, globally enforce daylight watering restrictions to simulate conservation ordinances.
- Energy & Financial Modeling: Evaluate your true operational costs. IAMDD integrates Time-of-Use (TOU) energy rates and monthly peak demand charges directly into the hydraulic simulation.
- Scenario Management: Build "What-If" alternatives without destroying your baseline data. Instantly compare the hydraulic performance and energy costs of multiple scenarios side-by-side.
